MINISTER O'KEEFFE T.D. OPENS NEW GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS FOR SMARTBIN
New global headquarters to house growing team bringing green technology to worldwide waste collection companies.
DUBLIN, Ireland, JULY 15, 2010 – Minster for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe T.D., officially opened the new global headquarters for SmartBin, a fast-growing provider of cost-efficient, green technology solutions to the waste collection industry.
The official office opening follows a period of success for the company which saw it secure an additional €1.5 million in funding, in addition to expanding its global footprint into the North American waste collection marketplace, having proven its success in the European market.
Speaking at the official opening on Thursday, 15th July, Minister O’Keeffe paid tribute to the SmartBin team, stating, “I am delighted to be here today to officially open the new global headquarters for SmartBin. This is a company that embodies the philosophy of the Government’s Smart Economy strategy, which seeks to set Ireland on a path of economic renewal through the creation of a thriving enterprise sector with high quality employment, an attractive environment and first class infrastructure. Through its vision and innovativeness, SmartBin has created and executed a proven market strategy, which will see it announce new deals over the coming months and years, as it sets its sights on global expansion. As a result of this foresight and ability to execute, SmartBin is ideally placed to succeed in this new Smart Economy and lead the charge towards full economic recovery”.
