Ragtex has over 30 years experience in recycling quality used clothes, shoes, household linen and toys which are exported to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. The company decided to first trial SmartBin sensors to analyze the data from the performance of their bins and to ensure that the bins involved in the trial are being used and managed optimally. Based on the incredible efficiencies derived from a 6-week trial covering 25 of its strategically positioned textile recycling bins, Ragtex UK has extended the use of SmartBin technology and services to a full suite of their clothing banks.
"We were confident that Ragtex would see substantial cost savings and would be able to manage their routes more efficiently by dispatching their vehicles to collect full or nearly-full bins only", said Alan Mangan, Director of Business Development in SmartBin.
Coupling satellite connectivity, web based monitoring and a robust network, SmartBin brings a new level of efficiency and performance to waste management technology. By fusing innovative wireless telemetry and Web access technologies, the Irish-based company has created market-leading solutions that optimize waste collection servicing through the generation of real-time information and business intelligence. With SmartBin's basic remote fill-level monitoring solutions, waste management companies can comply effortlessly with emerging environmental regulations for recycled materials including: textiles, paper, plastic or aluminum, as well as shredded documents, clinical waste and e-waste.
The SmartBin SmartManager Web interface provides a full service view of all monitored assets and a full suite of management reports, including alert SMS messages and e-mail. SmartManager is intuitively configured as the Map View tab provides a Google map with color-coded markers for each bin site, indicating the fill-level relative to user-established thresholds. This birds-eye view of bins under management allows clients to make intelligent fleet deployment decisions for collection.
The revolutionary SmartBin technology offers a host of multiple management features that streamline the overall bin-fill collection processes, including:
• Resource Management -- assignment of resources for specific tasks
• Alerts, configurable online for delivery by SMS or e-mail
• Standard reports on bin utilization and service performance
• Remote diagnostics
“SmartBin's real-time bin monitoring services provide modern businesses with significantly improved efficiency, trace-ability and greenness that they need to be successful,” states Alan Mangan, Director of Business Development in SmartBin.
