The Fluid Tanking Monitoring Solution from SmartBin has been developed especially for monitoring of fluid levels in tanks.  The solution consists of a battery-powered, wireless transceiver that transmits tank level data, ambient temperature and other critical data at programmable intervals to the SmartBin host server.

The SmartBin host server then processes this data and makes relevant information available on the Smart-Manager web interface. The wireless solution enables companies to monitor tank levels from remote locations.

Multiple authorized users can then use scheduled, daily data retrieval to consolidate fluid deliveries. The solution works with many types of fluids, and the solution facilitates easy integration with existing equipment, with minimal installation cost.

The solution consists of several elements shown in the diagram above, and described below.  

Tank Sensor
Tank sensors are compatible with a wide range of tanks.  Each tank sensor is located discreetly in the top of each tank, from where it ‘measures’ the fill level of the tank and sends this information (and more) wirelessly over the GSM (cellular) network to the SmartBin host server.  Sensors used in fluid tanks use Ultrasonic technology for sensing the tank fill-level. Sensors also incorporate capabilities to 'measure' battery level, signal strength, tank refills, etc.

Host Server
The wireless sensors communicate with the secure SmartBin host server, which parses the information received from the tanks and processes this information with application specific software. The processed information is made available to operational personnel on configurable websites.

Web Interface
The web interface provides a full service view of all monitored tanks and a full suite of management reports, including alert SMS messages and email, etc.  As all the information is provided over the internet, there is no need for SmartBin clients to invest in Information Technology or have specialist skills to adopt the service.
